The backrest cushion is attached to the structure, ensuring comfort. The elegance and “retro” touch are visually evident in the intricate stitching and elaborate cutouts. The robust shell, fully upholstered, hovers above rounded solid freijó wood legs, adding a special touch to the piece.
Duda, whose name was bestowed to this design, is Fernando Mendes' beloved Shih-Tzu, who always accompanies him in Vale das Videiras, where his workshop is located.

The minimalist ‘Ela’ sofa is named in honor of the beauty of women; ‘ela’ means 'her'’ in Portuguese. Through its inclination and density, the sofa’s backrest is designed to accommodate like an armchair; the slight curvature on the sofa’s sides facilitates sociability.

In 2009, Fernando designed this piece for a cane collector. It's a creation that expresses beauty and elegance through simplicity.
The special touch of this project is in the handle, which is shaped like a grain of rice. Fernando had originally developed this handle shape to be used in a different design, but it seemed perfectly suitable for this cane, so he applied it there instead. Once ready, the piece captured the admiration of Sergio Rodrigues. Fernando gifted him a cane, and the master liked it so much that he never used another cane again.
The Erlanger cane won two design awards: the iF Design Award in 2009 and the Designpreis Deutschland in 2010.

Esfera swivel chair exhibits a spherical fiberglass structure with an upholstered seat and back. In the 1970s, Fasanello worked with innovative materials for the time like polyester resin and fiberglass, mixing them with leather, steel and iron. Esfera captures the mood of the space-age in both material and form. Fasanello’s large-scale, sculptural pieces draw on the influence of pop culture and are marked by a formal, constructive reasoning.

Designed in 1979, and presented in an exhibition at Bahia's Museum of Modern Art, this chair, whose name fittingly translates to star from Portuguese, quickly received international recognition, receiving awards like the II Prêmio Museu da Casa Brasileira, in 1987. Furthermore, at the chair's top center, is a carved star. The chair's distinguished comfort is generated by the anatomical shape of its seat, and flexible backrest, made of peanut wood strips.

Named after Rodrigues' nephew and disciple, the 'Fernando' armchair was one of the last pieces Rodrigues designed in his lifetime. It conjures designs from his past through his signature circle cut-outs and innovative form.
The Fernando chair was born from a dormant project, a roll of scratch paper among hundreds of other creations by Sergio Rodrigues, which was found by Fernando Mendes when he was looking for another design for which to make a prototype.
In homage to the “discoverer” of this never before produced design, Sergio named the chair Fernando.
