by Sergio Rodrigues, 1973

The ingenious design of the "Kilin" armchair, evident of Rodrigues’ signature forms and materials, consists of a wood frame and leather sling slipcover that are easily assembled by dowels and pins while considerably lighter than Rodrigues’ other iconic armchairs. With its name derived from an abbreviated version of Rodrigues’ tender nickname for his wife, ‘esquilinho’ (or ‘small squirrel’), the "Kilin" is a straightforward and versatile armchair that quickly became a Brazilian design classic and bears a little of Rodrigues’ personal history within it.
