Presented as part of the collaborative program between ESPASSO and VERSO, Connections Across Time: Dualde Cornelsen brings together the work of Lucas Jimeno Dualde and Pali Xisto Cornelsen alongside a parallel body of work developed in close collaboration with artist Jejo Cornelsen.
The exhibition unfolds through a series of furniture, lighting, and sculptural works that explore the relationship between structure and gesture, precision and intuition, architecture and material experimentation. Developed through a longstanding creative dialogue between Dualde and Cornelsen, the pieces reflect a shared sensitivity toward proportion, craftsmanship, surface, and atmosphere.
Running in parallel, works developed between Pali and Jejo Cornelsen introduce an intergenerational exchange that sits at the core of the exhibition. Originating from Jejo’s sculptural wood studies and expanded into a family of collectible furniture and objects, these works establish a direct conversation between art and design, carrying forward a deeply personal language shaped by process, color, and material exploration.
Through VERSO’s contemporary curatorial framework and ESPASSO’s broader dialogue surrounding Brazilian design and cultural exchange, the exhibition positions these bodies of work within an evolving conversation about authorship, collaboration, and the emotional experience of objects in space. Rather than fixed disciplines, Connections Across Time proposes design as an open and ongoing exchange between people, generations, and ways of making.
