‘Here/After’ – The Architecture Photography of Paul Clemence and the writings of Robert Landon
Award-winning architecture photographer Paul Clemence and writer Robert Landon will launch and sign copies of their new book Here/After: Structures in Time during Art Basel Miami Beach / DesignMiami 2013. Continuing his investigation on the (im)permanence and the poetics of the relation between architecture, photography and time, for Here/After Clemence focuses his lens on some of the world’s most iconic buildings by Frank Lloyd, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Mies van der Rohe, Oscar Niemeyer, I.M. Pei, and Jean Nouvel, among others. Clemence’s sensibility captures vignettes of these architectural sites, paying special attention to their patterns and fluidity in which through both sublime and quotidians moments are revealed. “Buildings may be static, but our experience of them never is… They are subject to perpetual flux as the eye (and lens) move through three dimensions.” writes Landon. Book signing and launch on Thursday, December 5th at 6pm,“Inventory04: Time” Exhibit, 93 NE 40th Street in Miami Design District.
